Description

Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, is an organic compound, chemical formula C6H14O2, colorless transparent flammable liquid, with moderate ether taste, low toxicity, soluble in water and most organic solvents and mineral oils.

Has a moderate ether taste, low toxicity, boiling point 171℃. The relative density is 0.9015. Refractive index 1.4198. Vapor pressure (20℃) O.OLkpa. Flash point 61.1 ° C. Spontaneous ignition point 472℃. Soluble in 20 times water, soluble in most organic solvents and mineral oil. High dilution ratio with petroleum hydrocarbons.

Preparation:

First, butanol is added to boron trifluoride monoethyl ether complex, and after ethylene oxide is introduced at 25 ~ 30℃, it automatically heats up to about 80℃, that is, the addition reaction is completed. The reaction product is neutralized and distilled after recovering butanol, and then fractionated to get the finished product.

Security:

Application

①Used as a raw material of the paint, printing ink solvent and dye dispersants.

② Used for determination of iron and molybdenum reagents and solvents, also used     in separation of calcium and other items.

③ It can   also be used for fiber wetting agent, pesticides dispersant, resin plasticizers and synthetic organic intermediates, etc.

④ Used as an inactive diluent, metal detergent, paint remover, fiber wetting agent and drug extractant.

⑤  Used as a stabilizer of emulsioni paint, evaporating inhibitor of aircraft coating, high temperature baking enamel surface processing, etc.

⑥  Used as solvent for cellulose nitrate, resin, spray paint, quick-drying paint, varnish, enamel and metal detergent. It is also used as a high boiling point solvents.

⑦ Excellent surfactant, can clean metal, fabric, glass, plastic and other surface oil scale.etc. Widely used in paint, ink, leather, printing and dyeing, medicine, electronics and other industries.
