Description：

1,3,5-trimethylbenzene is a chemical with the formula C9H12; (CH3)3C6H3. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether. Industrial products can be obtained from heavy solvent oil by fractionation. It can also be synthesized by isomerization of trimethylbenzene or dehydration of acetone under sulfuric acid catalysis. Toxic. Flammable and explosive.

Application：

Organic synthetic raw material, used to produce trimeric acid, as well as antioxidant, epoxy resin curing agent, polyester resin stabilizer, alkyd resin plasticizer, to produce 2,4,6 tritoluine for the production of reactive brilliant blue, K-3R and other dyes.

Purpose:

- Mesitylene is mainly used as a solvent in organic synthesis.

- For the preparation of essences, pigments, dyes and fluorescent agents.

- For the preparation of inks, cleaning agents and coatings.

Preparation:

-mesitylene can be prepared from toluene by an alkylation reaction. The common method is to react toluene with methane to produce mesitylene under the condition of catalyst and appropriate temperature.
