Octocrylene is an effective UVB absorber that easily integrates with the oil phase of sunscreen formulations. It is an excellent solubilizer for other solid, crystalline UV absorbers. With a feature of high absorption rate, non-toxicity, non-teratogenicity and good stability, it can absorb UVB and a small amount of UVA light. It is approved as Class I active sunscreen ingredient by US FDA and widely used in the United States and Europe countries
