Description :
Dimethyl ether is also called methyl ether, or DME for short. DME is a colorless gas or compressed liquid under normal pressure. Dimethyl ether has good miscibility and can be miscible with most polar and non-polar organic solvents. It is an important organic chemical product and chemical intermediate.
Dimethyl ether has a slight ether aroma, and is a clean energy source. Product grades mainly include fuel grade (99%), aerosol grade (99.9%), and cosmetic grade (99.99%). At present, it is mainly used in domestic gas, industrial boilers, commercial catering and other fields.

Applications:
① Chemical raw materials: D imethyl ether can be used as a chemical raw material, for example, it can be used as a methylating agent for the production of dimethyl sulfate, and can also synthesize N, n-dimethylaniline, methyl acetate, acetic anhydride and ethylene and other chemicals. In addition, dimethyl ether can also be used as an organic intermediate for the preparation of pesticides, dyes and medicine.
② Fuel: As a fuel, dimethyl ether has a high cetane number and excellent combustion characteristics, which can replace traditional diesel and liquefied petroleum gas. It can be used as vehicle fuel, with high efficiency, environmental protection, smokeless combustion and other advantages. In addition, dimethyl ether can also be used for civil fuel, with similar physical properties to liquefied gas and complete combustion and fewer pollutants.
③Solvents and propellants: D imethyl ether is widely used as a solvent and extractant because of its non-toxic, non-corrosive, easy to liquefy and easily soluble in water and other organic solvents. It can also be used as an aerosol propellant for the manufacture of air fresheners, pesticides, blowing agents and other household chemicals.
④ Other uses: D imethyl ether also has an anesthetic effect, and high concentrations of DME can be used as an anesthetic. In addition, it can be used to make cosmetics and household chemicals, as a fuel in forest waste or coal, and to lower emissions from heavy vehicles.
Safety Information:
- Methanol is highly flammable. It should be avoided from coming into contact with fire sources. When storing, be aware of the fire hazard.
- Prolonged and extensive exposure to methanol may cause damage to the central nervous system. Adequate ventilation measures should be taken to reduce exposure.
- Methanol is an anesthetic. Accidental ingestion or inhalation of excessive amounts may lead to headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, and even coma. Be cautious to avoid misuse.
- When using methanol, appropriate protective gloves, glasses, and masks should be worn to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
- Methanol is volatile. It should be used in a well-ventilated environment and avoid prolonged exposure to high concentrations of methanol gas.
- During the use and storage of methanol, safety operating procedures should be followed, and relevant safety regulations and standards should be adhered to.
